The Gladiator is an excellent film, nevermind the actors/actress at this time. This film takes place during the roman empire, brutal savagery is nothing close to the films adaptation. To hue down men by the sword just didnt take anykind of valour or creed. It took the courage and strength to fight and be a general of the highest army. Mutilated corpses and armies sitting waiting to honor its general. Rome was glory but brothers and sons and fathers will find nothing more than lies and deception when times determined how strong you really was. "The Gods", "The Rome", "The Blood". Senate, political, Rome there remians the power struggle on good men and honest hearts. Orders to murder come like a cheap wine but why did the blindness create such a Ceasar. What a different time to see this film if it actually existed then. The sword could hue and cleeve in one single blow. Men fighting for Rome heaped into cruel piles. You cant see the end or purpose to the life these General Maximus Decimus Meridias defender and sidekick to Emperor Marcus Aurelius but when Commodus has orders self inflected Maximus will find a new order that takes him into slavery and to fight for his life before Rome is overtaken by a thug Commodus and lusting sister the S-ut. Hopefully Maximus will not lose his dignity or focus on the true lie which rests inside his soul in the end. Restoring the power back to Rome may set aside new foundations for supposid Commodus. Natural Rome is to be Republican once again by a dying mans breed. ACTORS/ACTRESS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Russell Crowe .... Maximus Joaquin Phoenix .... Commodus Connie Nielsen .... Lucilla Oliver Reed .... Proximo Richard Harris .... Marcus Aurelius Derek Jacobi .... Gracchus Djimon Hounsou .... Juba David Schofield Falco John Shrapnel .... Gaius Tomas Arana .... Quintus Ralf Moeller .... Hagen Spencer Treat Clark .... Lucius DVD FEATURES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 155 min | 171 min (extended version) Country: Region 1 .......USA Language:.......... English Color:.................Colormen hold. Excellent film always a pleasure to watch from time to time. Theres conscience mind here and moral values in which the film demonstartate clear human compassion and limits on how a pure man sees his life. No time was revenge upon the delivery or motive in which there should have been. To have your family butchered and hung what a travesty and corrupt doing by another hand. There was no justice here just pure evil. This films power holds spiritual effects and human enough has no warranty or lifeship on such brutal carryout. Proximo will find a true friend from his own personal past. In the end he to will dye of pride and what should have been done long ago. The fighting in the games will prove how powerful Maximus is and his skills are no match to any fighter who takes his standing in the circle of battle. To profit from death is a "Gladiator". A Spaniard is not one who lays down without the "Gods of the Sun". I see this film as Rated R, children should have adult supervision due to brutal body parts being hacked off with digital graphic display. Blood and guts was really great in this film. I also rate acting excellent. I rated the whole film 5*****................. |
