Pros: Pretty cheap to buy, works on your TV, fun! Cons: Two player only has boy and girl mode. |

We saw this game presented at QVC and both my husband and my kids wanted it right away. My 12 year old son got this console for his birthday and has been very happy with it. Console was very easy to set up, all you have is two wires, yellow and white, to plug into your TV and set it to your video 2 mode. Make sure you buy name brand batteries, I was reading some reviews of unhappy customers who could not get this game working or it started freezing up soon, for some changing to better batteries solved the problem. You will need 4 AAA batteries and 2 AA batteries, they are NOT included. Wireless motion controller is little white device with adjustable wrist band. It is easy to snap in place to each sport item you are using and there is a button to release it when you want to change. Wrist wrap keeps it secure on your wrist so you do not swing it to your screen by accident, good to have! Instructions tell you to have 8 ft free space around you while playing so you do not hurt anybody, our living room is not quite that big but after moving coffee table out of the way we have plenty room to swing around! My son wanted to start with Baseball, he plays it in Little League so of course he wanted to show his skills. Turns out that playing real baseball is really disadvantage playin Ultimotion, if you swing from the back like you would in real baseball you always hit too late. After some adjusting he did catch on. There is a single player and Two Player mode in each game, my only complain about two player game is that you have to chooce girl and a boy, so if you have two boys playig, other one will have to play as a girl or vice versa. My younger kids love playing Bumper Bowling, even my 5 year old daughter is into it, she loves when daddy helps her out so this can be great family fun together even if you are stuck inside because of the bad weather! My husband loves challenging my boys on Golf, there is full 18 holes and challenging course and wind is a factor and they are having great time playing. I've been playing Tennis myself, it is fun just to challenge yourself too, game saves the high scores for you. There is also Football, in that game you need to hit targets with your ball, some targets are quite hard to hit! If you hit the dead center of your target you will get more points. Overall we are very happy with this purchase, after all it does not cost more than about $60 and keeps my kids (and us!) entertained for hours. Graphics are not the greatest around but still in decent quality and set of Energizer batteries I bought for the game have been lasting for 3 weeks being used almost every day without a problem. On a box it says 5 and up and yes, 5 year old can play with some assistance, my 7 year old can play alone without a problem. So go ahead and Swing Away! |
